Jordan Douglas
Born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario, Jordan started her dance journey at the young age of two, and started competing competitively at the age of seven. Jordan’s training has brought her experience in many different genres of dance, however her focus shifted largely towards ballet, jazz, and lyrical in her senior years as a competitive dancer.
Jordan is trained in the Royal Academy of Dance ballet syllabus, and has completed all examinations up to the intermediate level. Jordan has always enjoyed performing and creating. She has performed with Canada’s Ballet Jorgen: The Nutcracker for three seasons. She was a part of the One Movement Dance Company: “Make your Move” Junior team – a dance performance company that promotes Anti-bullying messaging through performance. Jordan’s choreography has also won her top placements in youth choreography contests. And in 2016, her commitment to dance awarded her the “Dedicated to Dance” award at Element Dance Arts.
Jordan has always been interested in working with young dancers. She began assistant teaching at Element Dance Arts at a young age, and dedicated hundreds of hours to helping younger dancers throughout her youth. Jordan enjoys working with the community, and in addition to her studio teaching, she also instructs at the Victoria Hills Community Centre. Her work with “The Travelling Stage” company has exposed her to many different studios throughout the Southwestern Ontario Region. Throughout the summer months, Jordan enjoys her work as a summer dance camp instructor – helping to further share her love of dance with children!
In addition to teaching dance, Jordan is currently enrolled at Conestoga College, studying Early Childhood Education.
Jordan loves to inspire younger dancers through her love and passion for dance!
