Michele is thrilled to be able to share her passion and love of dance with the students of Element Dance Arts. Michele is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program. She has attained her Registered Teacher’s status with the Royal Academy of Dance, and holds her Associates status with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, in National Dance. She has completed advanced dance exams with the Royal Academy of Dance, The Cecchetti Society, ISTD National branch, and BTDA syllabus’. Michele is also a graduate of York University and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree specializing in Dance. She was the 2005 recipient of the York University IMACO award and scholarship for “Excellence in Performing Arts”. She has completed courses in pedagogy, child psychology and development, dance history, music history and theory, national dance, repertoire studies, benesch notation, human anatomy, nutrition, dance injury prevention and treatment, body conditioning, creative dance, composition and choreography, and advanced modern and ballet technique. Michele has worked with students in both the associates and professional ballet programs at Canada’s National Ballet School, and has had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the country’s most acclaimed teachers. Michele has worked for a variety of dance studios throughout Southwestern Ontario and has received numerous awards for her creativity in choreography. She has conducted off-ice ballet and stretch classes for competitive level singles and pairs figure skaters. Michele’s training has lead her throughout Canada, New York, and Australia in a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary and modern dance. Michele continues to take workshops and master classes with the Royal Academy of Dance, The National Ballet School, Peridance, and Steps on Broadway in New York City.
