Brittany joins the Element Dance Arts team with an extensive background in gymnastics and partnered dance styles. Training locally in Cambridge she was part of the competitive gymnastics team for 10 years at both the provincial and national level. She went on to earn a full ride gymnastics scholarship to Arizona State University. There she was a regular starter for the Division 1 team for the 2007-2011 seasons. It was also in Arizona that she began training in Latin Ballroom.
After moving back to Canada, Brittany attended the University of Western Ontario for a Masters program. While completing her degree she preformed with the UWO Salsa team at Toronto dance conferences and other events. Brittany also in that time, earned her Level 2 Women’s Gymnastics and Level 1 Trampoline certifications.
For the past 5 years she has been the floor routine choreographer and dance instructor for a local competitive gymnastics team. She has choreographed routines for provincial, national, international and division one collegiate level athletes. Several of her athletes have won awards for their choreography in competition. Recognized for her work in gymnastics choreography, she was twice invited by Gymnastics Ontario as a guest expert instructor for the Level 2 Women’s gymnastics certification course.
Brittany also continues to develop her knowledge and skills in partnered dances. She has taken workshops with instructors from all over the world and attends dance conferences for traditional ballroom, west coast swing, social Latin styles and zouk.
Brittany is very passionate in her teaching and is always challenging her students to pursue their best work. Her goal in teaching is to develop strong bodies and minds so that her students are safe and confident both in practice and at competition.
