Alexis’ passion for teaching goes beyond the syllabus and steps of ballet. She has assisted and taught for 14 years at various studios within the GTA including the Associate and Professional programs at Canada’s National Ballet School. She encourages students to develop a better understanding of the mechanics that surround the movements of ballet to ensure healthy practice and clean technique. She pulls on her knowledge from courses covering anatomy, body conditioning, nutrition, child psychology, dance history, music theory and history, pedagogy and choreography composition to give each student an enriched learning experience. Alexis graduated as valedictorian from the Canada’s National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program. During her time there she achieved her Registered Teacher’s Status with the Royal Academy of Dance and her Associates with the Cecchetti Society of Canada. She has over 20
years of dance training in Jazz, Tap, Modern Limón and Graham technique and has also completed her Advanced ISTD National exams and Advanced 2 exams with both the Royal Academy of Dance and the Cecchetti Society of Canada. Alexis is currently working towards
achieving her Registered Yoga Teachers Status in the Ashtanga Yoga style.
